clarkatroid is not folding

diary of a UK grinder

This is something ive been thinking about doing for a few months now, and yesterday my dad reckons its a good idea so thats swung the decision for me.

When i first started blogging i had 2 goals, Get a sponsorship deal, and record my monthly results in a stable format (as i lost my db once when my hard drive failed). However, 2 years on, i need to re-address why im blogging and what the pay off is, both for myself and anyone that reads it.

On the plus side

it acts like a photo / video album that cant ever be erased. This has been great for videos of holidays and the single main reason i wont ever erase the blog completely

its great for motivation in poker. i feel under pressure to put the hands in every month and deliver a result

The feedback has been great in the comments section ive really enjoyed that the blog has become relatively popular. Im proud that it gets nearly 500 hits a day

On the minus side

i dont like writing about me me me all the time. It makes me feel self indulgent

I set out to raise my profile, but now i dont want that anymore

I dont like the world knowing my exact earnings. Which has evolved from wanting everyone to know in a kind of attention seeking manner. At the start teh pokers is an exciting business, i couldnt believe how much wonga you could earn, i wanted to tell the world about it. Now i dont. Ive been posting detailed statistics of my game and that can only be to my detrement

And probably most importantly, i dont have anything more to say. After i posted my evolution as a poker player i feel like nows the right time to finish blogging

All im going to post from now on is monthly snap shots of stats and any private holiday stuff, and thats no use to most people

So ive got 2 options, one is to make it invite only, and the other is to allow fellow blog authors only to see it. ive not totally decided tbh one way or the other

anyways, these are probably my last stats post

jan results

hands played 117318
profits        $12478
rakeback   $6850

total  $19328

I basically played a shit ton of hands as i hit a nasty 15k downswong in the first 2 days

February should be an interestng month. Playing the manchester pokerstars tourney on the 11th and ive booked out some coaching lessons from a chap who comes highly recomended from a trusted source, hes not cheap at 300 fat ones an hour but ive got to improve my game in 2010 and this looks like a good place to start
